Recently, my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
Their dream was always to take a 40-day European vacation for their 40th wedding anniversary.
Unfortunately, my Mom was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) before they could realize that dream and pretty soon medical expenses ate up all their savings.
To say we’re all devastated by this news is an understatement. There is no cure for ALS and my Mom’s muscle spasms are getting worse. Her legs are getting shakier and she’s not quite steady on her feet these days.
My amazing coworkers got together and figured out a way for me to get a 2-month paid sabbatical, so I could take my parents on their dream European vacation while my Mom can still walk and do the things she’s always wanted to do.
But, even with all the support, European vacations cost more than we can afford right now.
That’s where Cookies for Karli’s Mom comes in!
My name is Karli and I am committed to find a way to help my Mom cross this final item off her bucket list while there’s still time.
For those that don’t know, my Mom is a certified French Pastry Chef, and I’ve grown up learning at her knee… so we make some pretty mean baked goods.
All the dry ingredients for your cookies will be specially prepared by my family for yours, with love, gratitude, and appreciation. Everything will arrive separated into which ingredients should get mixed together in what order with easy-to-follow instructions that will produce the right texture and flavor profile… yes, the order makes a difference! All you’ll need to do is add wet ingredients, bake, and enjoy. New flavors will be offered every week including gluten-free options!

I know this may seem like an odd way to end a message like this, but I just want to say, you never know what life is going to bring. You could get hit by a bus tomorrow. None of us gets to know when our minutes on this Earth will be up. If you have a dream you’ve been putting off for “later,” or a desire you’ve been waiting until “the right time” to go after, let today be the day you take the first step toward making it happen, and another step tomorrow, and another the day after, and another, and another…
